Maine State Trooper Pleads Guilty to DUI

In an embarrassing moment for the Maine State Police, trooper Robin Parker has pled guilty to a charge of DUI. The trooper’s car was seen driving erratically and he was stopped by a fellow trooper. Subsequent blood analysis found a .14 BAC level. Parker was represented by an attorney and it was deemed that fighting the charge was not a good option.

The state of Maine has some strict conditions in its DUI law. One of them is an immediate license suspension without any hearing. You can get a hearing about saving your license until your trial but the request for the hearing must be made within ten days of your arrest.

The State’s Bureau of Highway Safety estimates that the average DUI will cost up to $7,000 for the defendant following a guilty verdict. That cost should be more than enough reason to contact a Maine DUI attorney if you are charged with a DUI.

There may be circumstances in your case that can be exploited by an experienced DUI attorney that an average citizen would not know. The Breathalyzer used may have been faulty or not properly maintained, witness testimony could be inaccurate or probable cause for the stop may be questionable. A Maine DUI attorney will use any possible defense to save your driving privilege and prevent this charge from giving you a criminal record.
