Got a life time d/l revocation in Fl. with no hardship license for a fourth lifetime dui three years ago. The law came into effect 2 mos. before my last conviction. I hired a local att. who said he could have 1 or more previous dui's dropped because of a little known law. Upon issuing a plea the judge must ask if you were cooerced into your plea. I had public atts. in all but 1 case and was always told that if I go to trial and lose, the judge would give the max. Sounds like cooersion to me. Anyway my new att. ordered transcripts of all of the cases and only got back one. One case was 22 yrs. old, they claimed they couldn't find it. The one we got back was good enough for a start because it was found that the judge did not ask what he was required. My att. then schueduled a hearing to request a change of plea in that case. My request was denied. My att. does not seem to want to continue with the other 2 cases now. I checked out other states and allthough it is possible to get a license you must reside there at least a month and I can't afford that.I saw an att. referral service on the internet that says there is a federal law that gives relief to people who have life time revocations. My question is, is there really such a law or is it just internet bunk. I havn't driven in 3 years and must do menial work. I was once a professional. If there is no other recourse than can I apply for some kind of clemency?

Sorry,I can't help you, but I am just as lost in this system right now in Tampa, Florida. In July, I was convicted of my 3rd DUI offense. I've heard there are ways around my revocation period and can get my hardship license sooner than expected. I read your comment and it seems like your attorney knows more than my attorney who seems to have just done the basics for me. I was wondering if you could give me your attorney's name, so I could possibly contact him about my situation. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
