DUI convictions can be expunged from driving records provided you have a good attorney. But if you get stuck with it you'll see the DUI on the driving record for as far back as they check it.
insurance companies will only "see" it for up to 3 years. employers, etc.. for background check purposes will see it for either 5, 7 or 10 years depending on how far back they do the check.
some employers will only do standard 5 year checks depending on which state and others will do a longer 7-10 year check. |

my DUI doesn't show on my driving record and it's been about 4 years. I went to the DMV and got a print out of my driving record and didn't see it on there!!
this leads me to believe that it really is a case by case basis and tthat the dmv catches some DUI records and not others or maybe it fell off somehow?
i didn't expunge it or anything. so maybe you will get lucky too! |

| If you take an ARD (accelerated rehabilitaion disposition) after you first DUI, then the charges are dismissed, and it will not show up on your record. The state will, however, keep a record of the offense, should you redact. |
