So I went out to Oceanside to visit a friend. She drank a whole lot at another friend's house and I drove her home, as I felt pretty sober after waiting a good 3 - 4 hours after drinking two big New Castle 32oz'ers... which never got me even buzzed in the first place. None the less, she was piss-drunk, and I didn't know my way around Oceanside, so I was relying on her to direct me home. That would be my second mistake.
She somehow or another, after a series of turn left, turn right, directed me into Camp Penelton.. the Marine base. They stop me, and I explain she's wasted and I'm trying to take her home, but I don't know my way around because I'm not from around there. They didn't believe it. My eyes were red because everyone at the party smoked cigarettes (Or so I hope) and I just happen to wear contacts. They smell alchohol in the car and I try to explain that it was her. It was pretty freakin obvious that she reaked of it, and I was perfectly fine. Well, little did I know, Marine Police can only perform a citizens arrest... so I could have just as easily driven away. There was my third mistake. They told me to get out of the car, and called the cops. A cop came and gave me a breathalizer, performed a Field Sobriety Test on me, which I passed flawlessly, and then I was given another Breathalizer. Originally, the officer had said that I seemed sober, and he was thinking about letting me off.
Well, my friend decides to be a total idiot and call some of the marine n***ers. She then starts screaming at them that she's over 21 and has the right to be drunk. Then she starts throwing shit. So they have to call yet another cop to restrain her, and at this point I don't think the first cop could have let me off or he'd be seen by the other.
At the station, they observed me for 15, then did another breathalizer. Anyways, I got arrested. Spent the night in jail. Was never read my rights or given a phone call. They didn't fill out the paperwork correctly either, and checked many boxes with false information. I'm 20 years old. 0.05 BAC. Can I possibly get out of this? Court date is on the 29th. DMV hearing is on the 1st (yes, I did schedule one).
This is my first offence. And what are the odds of me getting a provisional license if I'm living on my own, going to school, and working full time? |
