New Hampshire DUI Class Requirements for DUI Offenders
In New Hampshire, DUI offenders are required to complete state-approved education programs as part of their rehabilitation and to regain their driving privileges. These programs include the Impaired Driver Care Management Program (IDCMP) and Impaired Driver Education Programs. Both programs are necessary to satisfy the conditions for reinstating a driver’s license after a DUI conviction.
The Impaired Driver Care Management Program includes screening and evaluation for substance use disorders, development of a service plan, and monitoring of compliance. It provides various services such as educational sessions, treatment referrals, and periodic evaluations (Russman Law).
Additionally, the Impaired Driver Education Program, which must be completed for license reinstatement, includes a minimum of 20 hours of an evidence-based educational curriculum approved by the Department of Health and Human Services. This program addresses issues related to impaired driving and aims to prevent future offenses (Russman Law).
It’s important to note that New Hampshire does not recognize online DUI classes for residents convicted within the state. Offenders must attend local, in-person classes unless they are non-residents or were convicted in another state (DUI Law Center).
For more detailed information on these programs and the requirements for DUI offenders in New Hampshire, you can visit the official NH Division of Motor Vehicles site on Impaired Driver Intervention Programs here.
